Dana Landry currently leads a jazz trio and a quartet, in addition to performing frequently playing piano with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. He is also a professor of music and the director of jazz studies at the University of Northern Colorado. Landry has performed with notable jazz artists including Milt Jackson, Bob Brookmeyer, Bela Fleck, Branford Marsalis, Slide Hampton, Lew Tabackin and many others.
His first release as a leader, “Journey Home,”was nominated for a Grammy Award. His second album, Memphis Skyline is a tribute to Memphis musicians and also was critically acclaimed.
Under Landry’s leadership, the University of Northern Colorado “UNC” Jazz Lab Band I has been recognized over half a dozen times as “Best College Big Band” by Downbeat Magazine.
